Protecting your data matters to us. This site works without advertising trackers, without analytics services and without cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner here either.

Controller

As an institution of the Catholic Church we are subject to the Act on Data Protection of the Catholic Church (Gesetz über den kirchlichen Datenschutz, KDG). The competent supervisory body is the diocesan data protection officer responsible for the Diocese of Trier.

Visiting the website

This website is hosted by wint.global GmbH, In der Steele 35, 40599 Düsseldorf, Germany; the server is located in their data centre in Düsseldorf. When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data to the server: IP address, time of the request, the address requested, the volume of data transferred, the status code and identifiers for your browser and operating system.

This data is required in order to deliver the page and to fend off attacks (§ 6 (1) (g) KDG — legitimate interest in secure and functioning operation). It is not combined with other data and is not used to create usage profiles.

The processor is wint.global GmbH. A data processing agreement is in place with them.

Enquiries by email

If you write to us, we process the details you provide — your sender address, your name and the content of your message — solely in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying (§ 6 (1) (g) KDG); where the enquiry concerns an agreement, such as borrowing the exhibition, § 6 (1) (b) KDG applies.

The message stays in the mailbox of the responsible contact person and is kept for as long as is necessary to deal with it, but no longer than three years. There is no contact form on this site, so no data is transmitted to third parties when you open the contact page.

Embedded content

Individual articles contain audio or video content from third parties. These are only loaded once you expressly start them with a click. Before that, no data is transmitted to the provider concerned.

Your rights

Under the KDG you have the right to

• information about the data stored about you (§ 17 KDG),
• rectification of inaccurate data (§ 18 KDG),
• erasure (§ 19 KDG),
• restriction of processing (§ 20 KDG),
• data portability (§ 22 KDG),
• objection to processing (§ 23 KDG), and
• to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority (§ 48 KDG).
